Although not the only market in Montreal, Jean-Talon is by far my favorite. Although I'm a fan of Atwater market when in a rush, I find the atmosphere and variety of products at Jean-Talon unbeatable. There is no better activity on a Sunday afternoon then lazily strolling through the various stands, sampling fresh produce, and picking up gourmet, organic items in some of the specialty stores. There is also a variety of stands offering freshly cooked meals on site. The market is an all day ritual for me and I savour every moment! In the summertime, the market becomes open air and it totally transforms into a bustling place with gorgeous bright produce everywhere. If you haven't been, be sure to set aside a few hours to do your weekly shopping. Then, sit down at one of the food stands and enjoy an amazing, well-priced meal! Pick up some flowers from one of the many florists on your way out.
